One of the oldest form of dance in India is still alive and being practiced. It was formalised by the four brothers of Thanjavur known as Thanjavur Quartet who composed various varnams and kritis.

The traditional dance is practiced and the culture is upheld in UK too. Just see the Bharatanatyam dancers reaching the finals of BBC Young Dancer 2017 Finals – South Asian category.

At the Herts Tamil School, the dance teacher believes in carrying on the tradition by virtue of practice and performances. Our pupils perform in at least 3 occasions during one academic year.
