On Sunday, 6th October 2019, the students, parents and teachers celebrated Saraswathi Poojai. Saraswathi is the goddess of knowledge, music, art and culture. Seeking the blessings of Saraswathi is one of the auspicious activities the school organises every year.
The day began with the usual Tamil classes whilst the stage is being decorated and setup for the celebration by elders in the school.
After the seeking of blessings, the school students took turns in demonstrating their talent. This is one of the core aims of the school – to provide as many opportunities as possible for the students to perform on stage. This builds their confidence and continued interest in upholding the culture and tradition.
The day concluded with healthy lunch prepared from home by our school parents.
It was also a visual treat to witness the children and parents all dressed up in traditional dress providing the perfect ambiance to the day’s occasion.
